 | Do you want to stop smoking? |
DID YOU KNOW?
Smoking is the biggest cause of preventable death in the Western world. It kills 1 in 2 smokers, 120,000 in the UK every year. Most die from cancer, chronic obstructive lung disease and coronary heart disease.
Treating smoking related illness costs the NHS £1.7billion per year.
Smoking during and after a childbirth is a cause of cot death.
72% of smokers would like to give up smoking.
Shirehampton Group Practice offers appointments with the Treatment Room staff for 'Stopping Smoking'. Our staff are trained as part of the Bristol Support to Stop scheme, and are able to give information, help and support to anyone who is ready and eager to quit. We are also able to facilitate prescriptions for Nicotine Replacement Therapy, such as patches or gum or for Zyban, if appropriate.
We would ask you please to contact our reception staff, who will take your name and number. One of our Staff will contact you when an appointment is available. Unfortunately we currently have a waiting list for these appointments, but advice can be sought in the meantime from the following contacts.
